Cleaning your Jewellery at home

The best place to start when cleaning your jewellery is to add a few drops of dishwashing detergent to warm, not hot, water. Let the piece sit in the solution for a few minutes, longer if it's very dirty, then gently scrub with a new, baby-size, soft toothbrush. Air dry or gently pat dry with a clean microfibre cloth.

If your sterling silver jewellery is tarnished, use a silver polishing cloth gently wipe away tarnish and restore its lustrous shine. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbing vigorously, as they may damage the metal or gemstones.  You can purchase a silver cloth at most supermarkets, or you will find one included when you purchase my jewellery.  A little drop of water can be placed on the cloth to remove stubborn tarnish.

Gemstones can attract finger prints and grease which can dull their lustre.  Again,  you can clean gemstone jewelry with a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm, soapy water. Avoid immersing porous stones (e.g., opals, pearls, emeralds) in water, as it may damage their appearance.
